Enchant Items mod (2025 Jul 14, game ver 0.31+)


(2025 Jul 14) new feature:
removed instant enchantment after completing quest, instead - completing quest gives town jobs to enchant an item. Enchantment strength is +1 for each 24% of relationship above 50%, and +1 for each 49% morale above 50%. Half points go into enchanment levels (odd) and rest points go into item upgrade levels. If multiple characters do the same job they enchant a random single item equipped, chosen randomly.

Changes from old mod version:

  • enchantment and item upgrades are separated
  • easy quests now give 1 upgrade, medium - 1 upgrade and 1 enchant tier, hard - 2 upgrades and 1 enchant tier
  • (Dec 26 update) each npc quest gives +1 enchant tier; medium difficulty also +1 upgrade level; hard difficulty +2 enchant tiers and +1 upgrade level
  • there are total of 7 enchant tiers (above 0): from F to A and S (similar to arena ranks)
  • (May 29 update) you can edit enchantitems.cfg file (in BepinEx/plugins/config) to set max_enchant_levels. Default is 7, but you can go for 35 (five digit tiers, up to SSSSS rank enchant), and above if you like.
  • F tier adds 2 stat bonuses
  • E and A tiers adds skill or passive
  • D tier improves skill values (or gives +1 hp and +1 mana)
  • C and S tiers add 1 stat bonuses
  • B tier adds skill or passive
  • any enchantment upgrade beyond S tier gives +1 item upgrade instead
  • !! removed icon overlay and dismantling mechanic
  • (Feb26 update) new possible item skill: FinalDrain (deal half target's energy * 10% hp damage, or instakill at 0 energy and 50%+ lust, and gain +1 permanent maximum hp)
  • (Feb26 update) elemental craftable items may have their skills replaced (e.g. FireSword or MagmaHammer may have skills from lava type upgrades)
  • (Mar06 update) there was a bug in adjusted item level scaling for +armor and +speed. Now it correctly adds a minimum of +1 at +1 level
  • (Mar06 update) most likely fixed bug with Confuse item skill, which broke turn sequence if you sacrificed controlled unit
  • (May29 update) added stat upgrade bias based on item name. E.g. "items_st" config variable adds +2 chance to roll +1 strength.
  • (May29 update) new active skills for items: non-lethal damage themed.
  • (2025 Jul 11 bugfix) fixed ShockCharge and StoneThrow item skills: updated push movement code to latest game version

Stat bonuses mostly grow from vanilla item upgrade rank mechanics.

Item price calculation is changed from vanilla, to prevent integer overflow into negatives.

Item upgrade growths are changed from vanilla, by adding baseline growth for stats. E.g. item with 1 hp bonus will grow this bonus faster than 1 speed bonus.
